When I talk about multiband compressing reverb I mean sending every reverb in your mix to a single group. In that group you then set up a multiband compressor to selectively reduce the volume of any given frequency range as it gets too loud.

This is also known as dynamic EQing. It’s just like EQing reverb, only it has the added benefit of allowing us to selectively reduce the volume of a given frequency range whenever it becomes too loud with reverb energy.

It’s important to control reverb volume in a given frequency range because sometimes while everything in your mix is feeding into your reverb, it can cause the overall amount of reverb happening to overwhelm your mix.
